Kemer is a constructed tourist destination approx. 42 km south of Antalya - with high standard, surrounded by pine forests and the Taurus Mountains behind creates a beautiful setting. The mood in the city, which has approx. 5000 inhabitants, is quiet and peaceful, and brings light reminiscent of the Riviera, in the marina are sailboats and restaurants side by side.
There are also smaller tourist areas in the surroundings, including Beldibi and Kirisworld.
Kemer is a great destination for families and people who want it comfortable and not too noisy during their stay. There are several good restaurants in the marina area. The town center has a pleasant pedestrian street with lots of souvenir shops, bars and discos. During the evening the summer dressed tourists comes to the streets. Kemer was once a small fishing village that has developed into a full-fledged Holiday center.
Its close to everything, including the beaches. In the city itself is a rolling stone beach and within walking distance of downtown are the sandy Moonlight Beach with lemon groves in the background. The range of water activities are good, including wind surfing, water skiing and paragliding. The water is crystal clear and clean, the beaches are then also awarded with the EU’s Blue Flag, a recognition given for one year as evidence that the environment is in order. If you want, there is also opportunity to take the boat to other beaches in the area.
Near Kemer is more historically interesting sights and areas: Among other things, the port city of Phaselis, which was founded 2500 years ago, the ancient city of Perge, with its Roman baths - and the mountain Olympus where it is said that the Gods lived and where the eternal flame is burning. You can take a jeep ride up in the Taurus Mountains, see the amphitheater at Aspendos or travel an hour to regional capital Antalya, with its approx. 600 000 inhabitants. Here you should visit the charming seaport and the old city, go shopping and enjoy the restaurants and nightlife.
Kemer is well suited for families and those who want a calm and pleasant nightlife. In October, the city hosts the annual Antalya Golden Orange National Film Festival "and in April is a carnival.
